Bonnie Thrasher, a journalism instructor at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, shared that a retirement reception will be held for Journalism Department Chairman Dr. Joel Gambill from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, in the J-Department Reading Room. Everyone is invited to attend this event.
Thrasher said, “I am making a scrapbook for him. Anyone interested in contributing copies of photos or written memories (especially of Dr. Gambill and The Herald or in classes) can e-mail them to me at bthrasher@astate.edu or mail them to me at P.O. Box 1930, Journalism Department, State University, AR 72467. I need it by April 20. Please send this info to anyone you think would be interested, especially former Herald staff members. We are also putting together photo boards to highlight his years at ASU. If you have any that would be good to use for this, please, send copies to me.”
