Summary: Position provides technical education and communications assistance to Extension soybean agronomist and other faculty as assigned including website maintenance and design; blog and article assistance; publication development assistance; graphic design assistance; data organization and summarization; and other duties as assigned
Examples: Development and maintenance of electronic and web-based educational materials, primarily in soybean agronomics or other agriculture and natural resource topics as assigned. These materials may include blogs, media articles, fact sheets, web pages, brochures, booklets, production management handbooks and so forth.

Development and maintenance of assigned interactive websites or related web-based tools to support extension soybean agronomic programs or related agriculture and natural resources projects as assigned.

Provide assistance and support for web-based or other electronic and on-line education efforts (via Centra or related tools) to soybean agronomist or other faculty as assigned
Skills: Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications, data management, & email. Good oral & written communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, & prioritize work from multiple projects. Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, & assume responsibility for various projects & activities. Ability to respond positively to direction from supervisors & work without direct supervision. Ability to remain focused & exercise close attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in Agricultural Education, Communication and Technology or equivalent degree. Working proficiency in graphic design, web design and maintenance, Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software as well as working knowledge of Apple (MAC) and Windows computers and software systems required. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Some knowledge of extension education, publications and web education approaches; experience in web design and website management; experience in agronomic data summarization and organization; experience writing and creating newsletters, educational articles and publications; web-based database management; familiarity with online course development and editing; experience with video technology and creation of educational videos; experience in blog editing.
